February 29, 2016- Hanan B. Kolko on Panel at the Nassau County Bar Association Hanan Kolko will be on panel at the Nassau County Bar Association’s, “The Times They Are A-Changing CLE program. The program will discuss New York State’s medical and recreational marijuana laws. December 10, 2015 – Hanan Kolko Mentioned in Gay City News, “Despite Constraints, Optimism About New Medical Marijuanan Program” The state commissioner of health is mandated under the law to finalize the medical marijuana guidelines by January 7 when it takes effect. Savino and fellow panelists Julie Netherland of New Yorkers for Compassionate Care and attorney Hanan B. Kolko of Meyer, Suozzi, English, and Klein, who represents one of the five companies permitted to sell medical marijuana, agreed that the guidelines are unlikely to force patients to change doctors should a “treating” physician shy away from prescribing marijuana. April 27, 2015 – Hanan Kolko Quoted in Newsday, “LI Company Weighs Applying to be a Medical Marijuana Dispenser” Newsday quoted Hanan Kolko in an article titled “LI Company Weighs Applying to be a Medical Marijuana Dispenser.” The article, published April 27th, discusses a Long Island Company that is leaning toward entering the competition to become one of five initial medical marijuana dispensers in New York. The article stated: “Hanan Kolko, an attorney in the cannabis practice group at Garden City-based Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, said the furor over marijuana legalization will die down as the business emerges from the shadows. “At some point, [a marijuana dispenser is] going to sponsor a float in the July Fourth parade,” he said.” The full article can be read at Newsday (may require subscription).
